ROCKMASTER "D" (Darryl Mercer) DJ Biography Aug 2001 until present: DJ Rockmaster "D" has performed at numerous wedding reception, Christmas parties, Proms, and other various outdoor functions playing a wide variety of music to include: R&B, Hip Hop, Reggae, Classic Rock, Old School, Alternative, Top 40 and some Country. From Aug 2000 to Aug
2001: Performed at the Kunsan Air Base (Korea) NCO Club on
Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays playing a wide variety of music to
include R&B, Hip Hop, Reggae, Classic Rock, Old School, Alternative,
Top 40 and some Country. During
the same period, he was hired to play over fifty mobile gigs playing a
variety of music. From Jan 1998 to Jul 2000: he performed at the Peterson AFB (Colorado Springs, Colorado) NCO club on Friday nights where the music format was R&B, Hip Hop, Reggae, Classic Rock, Old School, Alternative, Top 40 and some Country. Also during this time he played at over 100 weddings, proms and various outdoor gatherings. From Jan 1995 to Dec
1998: He was employed with
Nightlife entertainment playing at the Kadena NCO and Airman’s club
(Japan). In addition to
that was hired by AT&T to provide wide variety of music for
promotional purposes (over 100 appearances).
The last two years of his tour, he was hired by Marine MWR to
provide services as their entertainment coordinator. He was responsible
for 55 DJ’s. Responsible
for music programming, payroll, sound engineer, equipment repair and
scheduling. Providing entertainment to Marine Camp Foster, and Kinser.
Highlight of his DJ career, very rewarding experience. From Nov 1988 to Nov
1995: Was house DJ for the
Sheppard AFB NCO & Airman’s Club (Wichita Falls Texas). Again
playing a wide variety of music and providing services for over 250
weddings, proms and other gatherings. From Oct 1983 to Oct 1988: He was employed as one of the many DJ’s at the Spangdahlem AB (Germany) NCO. It was here that DJ Rockmaster “D” developed a love for entertaining by way of spinning 12” records. The money wasn’t great but the experience was very rewarding. Rockmaster “D” plays music on a variety of media. He has a style that enables him to incorporate a unique style of beat mixing, blending and cutting to ensure absolutely no dead air at his performances. All of this is accomplished on a Laptop Computor utilizing the latest Virtual DJ Software. |
